Cipio Partners and other shareholders have sold BroadLight, Inc. to Broadcom Corporation. The acquisition is expected to expand Broadcom’s broadband access portfolio to support customer requirements for rolling out next-generation fiber networks worldwide. Cipio Partners was an investor in the company among leading VCs such as Azure Capital Partners, Benchmark Capital, Delta Ventures, Israel Seed Partners and Star Ventures.

BroadLight Inc., headquartered in Herzliya, Israel, a maker of so-called PON chips for high-speed telecom networks, has been a Cipio portfolio company since 2007. The buyer, Broadcom Corp. (NASDAQ: BRCM), is a global Semiconductor major. (…)
